Fujitsu, NSN to Collaborate on NTT DoCoMo's LTE Core Network

Japanese telecom carrier NTT DoCoMo has selected Fujitsu and NSN (Nokia Siemens Network) for its LTE (Long Term Evolution) core network, Reuters reported on October 27. As per the terms of the deal, Fujitsu and NSN will collaborate on the development of the SAE (Service Architecture Evolution) gateway, including the serving gateway and the PDN (Packet Data Node) gateway, for NTT DoCoMo's next-generation Super 3G - commonly know as LTE - mobile communications system. Besides the new project with Fujitsu, NSN has also teamed up with Panasonic Mobile Communications to deliver LTE radio technology for NTT DoCoMo.
